The community was created by two females in tech, that saw an opportunity to do more.
We saw that most large organisations have a volunteering allowance, but most are under-utilised. Corporate volunteering is often a physical, outdoor event - think planting trees, or giving a play area a makeover - which doesn't resonate with everyone.
Meanwhile, only 12 per cent of non-profits described their organisation as digitally mature.
We believe that we can harness the time and specialist skill sets of more volunteers to benefit our society. Our role is to simplify the match-making and provide projects that everyone can feel proud of.
Having worked in the industry for several decades, Claire and Laura recognised that placing volunteering at the heart of the challenge means that collective goodwill becomes a force multiplier.
By bringing together non-profit organisations, volunteers and other like-minded, Tech4Good organisations, we believe we can achieve more together. We can make it easy for volunteers to connect to multiple projects which means that together, we can drive greater impact across our communities.
Anyone is welcome to join, regardless of age, gender and background. The only 'must' is some prior technical knowledge, or experience of working in a tech adjacent role, such as a SCRUM Master, Business Analyst or Project Manager.
Whether you've built your tech skills but not yet launched a career, or you've worked in a tech environment for a while, we can help you put your skills to work for good.
The community is free to join and you will have the option to accept or decline each project.
We're collaborators at heart, bringing lots of people together with a shared purpose.
