Why We Exist
Employers want experience. People need opportunities to gain it.
For years, I watched talented people invest time, energy and money into learning new technology skills, only to discover that breaking into a technology career was still out of reach. They had the qualifications, motivation and potential, but often lacked the practical technology experience, professional networks and real-world evidence that employers were looking for.
At the same time, I saw many fantastic organisations providing training, employability support, mentoring and recruitment services. Yet there was often a gap between learning and employment. People needed meaningful opportunities to apply their skills, gain experience and demonstrate their capabilities in real-world settings.
I founded The Cloud Crew to help address that challenge. My vision was never to replace the excellent work already happening across the skills, employability and technology sectors. Instead, I wanted to contribute what I believed was often the missing ingredient: opportunities for people to gain credible, practical experience through real client projects, mentoring, volunteering and collaboration.
Today, The Cloud Crew brings together aspiring technology professionals, experienced volunteers, employers, training providers, charities, small businesses and social impact organisations. Together, we create opportunities for people to build real client experience while delivering genuine value through technology projects that make a difference.
Collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do. We work alongside organisations delivering training, employability programmes and recruitment services, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Social Value teams looking to create meaningful impact through technology skills, volunteering and employer partnerships across multiple communities and locations. We believe lasting change happens when organisations work together, not in isolation.
