Creative Marketing Assistant (Paid Work Experience Placement)

Remote | 2‑week voluntary placement, followed by 8-week paid placement 

About The Cloud Crew CIC 


The Cloud Crew CIC is a Tech4Good community that bridges the gap between training/education and paid employment in tech and digital careers. We provide work placements, industry mentoring, and employability support for skilled job seekers. We create work placements by completing digital transformation projects for charities, start‑ups, and SMEs. 

This Creative Marketing Assistant placement supports our mission by helping us communicate clearly, creatively, and authentically across our events and digital channels. 


Role Summary 

This is a hands‑on, entry‑level creative marketing role designed for someone who wants to build real experience and confidence. You’ll help produce marketing materials for our in‑person and virtual events using Canva and other digital tools. No prior experience is required — just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. 

You’ll receive regular mentor check‑ins, digital training, and supportive guidance throughout. You’ll report directly into the Marketing Manager. 


What You’ll Do 

You’ll work with your mentor to create engaging marketing content that supports our community events and programmes. Tasks may include: 

  • Designing social media graphics, banners, and promotional posts using Canva and other tools 
  • Creating visual assets for event pages, newsletters, and community updates 
  • Supporting the creation of slide deck templates, posters, and digital flyers 
  • Helping maintain brand consistency across different platforms 
  • Drafting short captions or copy for social posts 
  • Assisting with basic website updates or landing page content 
  • Supporting event promotion through platforms similar to Eventbrite 
  • Carrying out light admin tasks related to marketing and communications 

This role is intentionally structured to help you learn by doing, with plenty of support.

Who This Is For 

You don’t need any previous marketing or design experience. This opportunity is ideal if you are: 

  • Exploring a career in marketing, design, events, or communications 
  • Looking for real work experience to strengthen your CV 
  • Interested in creative tools like Canva 
  • Keen to learn, experiment, and contribute to a social‑impact organisation 
  • Comfortable working remotely and communicating regularly with your mentor 
  • Aged 18-21 
  • Lives in CV1 to CV6

Logistics 

  • Initial duration: 2 week voluntary, followed by 8-week paid 
  • Location: Fully remote 
  • Hours: 16 hours per week between 09.30am – 5pm, Monday - Friday
