Junior Tech Consultant (Paid Work Experience Placement)

Remote | 2‑week voluntary placement, followed by a 8-week paid placement 


About The Cloud Crew CIC 

The Cloud Crew CIC is a Tech4Good community that bridges the gap between training/education and paid employment in tech and digital careers. We provide work placements, industry mentoring, and employability support for technically-skilled job seekers. We create work placements by completing digital transformation projects for charities, start‑ups, and SMEs. 

As a Junior Consultant, you’ll gain hands‑on experience contributing to real client projects, supported by a Technical Coach. The engagement will help you to develop your technical, professional, and collaborative skills. 


Role Summary 

This is an entry‑level technical role designed for someone who has completed training in areas such as coding, CRM, cloud platforms, or digital tools — but needs real‑world experience to build confidence and experience on their CV. Whether you’re self-trained, completed a bootcamp or have finished a college course, this opportunity is for you. 

You’ll support project teams by completing technical tasks, documenting work, and contributing to the delivery of digital solutions for our clients. You’ll receive technical guidance, access to further learning materials and structured support throughout. 

No experience is required — just foundational technical skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. 


What You’ll Do 

You’ll work alongside Technical Coaches, project leads, and other Junior Consultants to support the delivery of digital transformation projects. Tasks may include: 

  • Assisting with coding tasks (e.g., front‑end updates, simple scripts, or configuration) 
  • Supporting CRM setup, data entry, workflow configuration, or user testing 
  • Helping with cloud platform tasks such as resource setup, permissions, or documentation 
  • Testing features, logging issues, and supporting quality assurance 
  • Supporting the creation of user guides, process maps, or simple technical diagrams 
  • Attending client update meetings 

You’ll be guided step‑by‑step, with tasks matched to your knowledge and career goals. 


What You’ll Gain

  • Learn how to work to a brief, manage simple deadlines, and iterate based on feedback  
  • Build a portfolio of real client project experience 
  • Experience on interacting with technical teams using tools such as GitHub and Linear. 
  • LinkedIn endorsements for the work you have completed 
  • Access to industry-related webinars, Hackathons, mentoring and other activities 


Who This Is For 

This opportunity is ideal if you: 

  • Have completed training in coding, CRM, cloud, or digital tools 
  • Are looking for real‑world experience to strengthen your CV 
  • Want to build confidence applying your technical skills 
  • Enjoy problem‑solving, learning, and supporting others 
  • Are comfortable working remotely and communicating regularly with your mentor 
  • Aged 18-21 
  • Lives in postcodes CV1 to CV6 


There is no minimum qualification or certification requirement. We nurture raw talent — all you need is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to doing your best.

Logistics

  • Location: Fully remote 
  • Hours: 16 hours per week, within 9.30am – 5pm, Monday - Friday
