Mentoring Programme

Who Can Be a Mentor?

Mentoring is not limited to tech professionals. Our Volunteer Mentors can come from any industry or professional background. Their role is to guide, support, and inspire learners, sharing insights from their own careers to help young people navigate their career paths.

Volunteer Mentors provide guidance on:

  • Exploring career options
  • Developing employability skills
  • Building confidence in professional settings
  • Networking and industry connections

Technical Coaches, on the other hand, are mentors with a tech-specific background who provide guidance on technical skills and project-based learning.

Who Benefits?

 Volunteer Mentors

  • Gain satisfaction from giving back and supporting the next generation
  • Expand professional networks by connecting with other mentors and learners
  • Develop coaching, leadership, and communication skills
  • Mentoring can enhance career development: research shows that mentors are more likely to report higher job satisfaction and professional growth

Volunteer Junior Consultants (Mentee)

  • Receive guidance tailored to their career interests
  • Build confidence and clarity in career choices
  • Gain practical advice on employability, including CVs, interviews, and networking
  • Access to industry insights and professional connections

How It Works – 6‑Week Cycle

  • Junior Consultants gain confidence, knowledge, and networks
  • Mentors develop coaching and leadership skills
  • Builds strong connections between industry and future talent

Why Volunteer Mentoring Works

  • Mentoring builds reciprocal learning: mentors often report that they gain fresh perspectives, new ideas, and increased motivation through their interactions with learners.

Previous program data shows:

  • 85% of mentors reported improved coaching and leadership skills
  • 90% of learners (Mentee) felt more confident in exploring career options after mentoring
  • Mentoring relationships often lead to longer-term professional networking opportunities
