Join our volunteer community for free and make a difference using technology and your skills
We bring together people from all backgrounds to work on hackathons and practical projects. Together, we plan, design, and build technology that helps communities and society. Social impact means the positive effect our work has on people and the wider community.
Our community is inclusive and open to everyone aged 18 and above. Whether you’re starting your career, switching careers, returning to work, retired, or working full-time, you’re welcome to join. All we ask is that you have some skills — technical or professional — and are ready to share them to help others or support organisations.
Most of our volunteer projects run for 4–12 weeks, and you can choose a schedule that fits around your other commitments.

Depending on your skills and interests, you could be ready for roles such as:
- Marketing & Communications – social media, content, campaigns, branding
- Product & Project Management – planning, organising, delivering projects
- Operations & Administration – process improvement, systems, coordination
- Design & UX – graphic design, web design, user experience
- Technology & IT – website updates, data, coding basics, testing
- Strategy & Research – analysis, business planning, insights
- Finance & HR – budgeting, reporting, people management
Even if your background isn’t in tech, volunteering gives you hands-on experience working with technology projects, so you can confidently move into entry-level or career-returner roles in tech, marketing, or project delivery.
