Gain valuable work experience by volunteering as a Junior Consultant on a real technology project for a Scottish business.
You’ll work alongside a delivery team, led by an experienced technical coach, to tackle a genuine business challenge and develop a practical technology solution that delivers real value.
The programme lasts up to 90 days, with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week. You can work remotely or from our hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dundee.

As you progress, you may have opportunities to work on advanced projects like AI automation and secure cloud hardening, depending on your skills and business needs.
What should I expect in 90 days?
Get matched
Join a project and get matched to a real business based on your existing skills, experience and career goals.
You’ll need some knowledge of technology to get the most from the programme. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should have a foundation of technical skills that you can apply to a real project.
Your technical knowledge could be from a bootcamp, a college or university course, or even self-taught.
Work with a real business
You’ll work on a genuine business challenge and gain experience of working as part of a professional technology team.
You’ll get to understand a real problem, work with the business to explore what’s needed and contribute to shaping and delivering a practical solution.
Learn how technology teams actually work
You’ll work in an agile delivery environment, where you’ll plan, build, test and improve your work over a maximum 90-day project.
You’ll join weekly check-ins with your team and learn how teams work together, communicate progress and manage work both in meetings and independently.
You’ll learn how to:
- Break a real problem down into manageable pieces
- Plan and prioritise your work
- Work with others as part of a delivery team
- Take part in regular check-ins and sprint reviews
- Respond to feedback and changing requirements
- Work to deadlines and agreed standards
- Test your work in real conditions
- Document what you’ve worked on
- Present your work to a client
- Hand over your work so someone else can understand and maintain it
You’ll have regular opportunities to review your progress with the business, including a formal checkpoint around Day 45 and a final showcase at Day 90.
Build & deliver
Work as part of an agile team to plan, develop, test and improve different parts of your project.
You’ll put your existing technical skills into practice while developing your understanding of how technology projects are delivered in a real business environment.
Showcase
At the end of the project, you’ll present your work to the business and hand over what you’ve delivered.
It’s an opportunity to demonstrate what you’ve learned, the contribution you’ve made and the value of your work.
